FAQ
Questions about selling your house for cash in St. Louis
Straight answers from the people who'll actually buy your house. Don't see your question? Call or text (314) 310-3240.
How soon will I get an offer?
Usually the same day we meet you at the house, or the next day. It starts with a short phone call, then a walkthrough at a time that works for you.
How fast can you close?
In as little as 7–14 days. If you need more time to move or get things in order, you choose a later date. We work on your timeline.
Do I need to make repairs or clean?
No. We buy homes as-is in any condition. Take what you want and leave the rest.
Are there any fees or commissions?
None. No agent commissions, no hidden costs, and we pay your closing costs. The price we agree on is what you receive, minus any mortgage or liens you owe.
Is there any obligation if I call?
No. Getting an offer is free and you're never obligated to accept it.
Do you pay a fair price?
We look at the home's condition, location, nearby sales and the work it needs, and we're happy to explain how we got to our number. Cash buyers pay less than a fully repaired home would sell for on the open market, in exchange for speed, certainty and no repairs or fees.
How are you different from a real estate agent?
We are the buyer, not an agent. Agents list your house and wait for a buyer. We buy it directly, so there are no listings, commissions or loan approvals. If you want top retail price and can handle repairs and time, an agent may be the better fit, and we'll tell you so.
What do you do with the houses you buy?
Most often we renovate them and sell or rent them, sometimes to families who can't qualify for a traditional loan. Our goal is always to leave the house and the street better than we found them.
What areas do you buy in?
St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County and Jefferson County.
What if I'm behind on payments or facing foreclosure?
Call as early as you can. We can often close before a scheduled sale date, and the title company pays off your loan at closing.
Who handles the paperwork?
A local title company handles the closing, the payoffs and the transfer. We coordinate everything and explain each document before you sign.
Are you licensed real estate agents?
No. Brickyard Home Buyers is a private real estate investment company that buys homes directly as the principal buyer. We are not acting as your real estate agent.
